Taeyang Tops Domestic And Worldwide Music Charts With Latest Solo Comeback

Posted August 17, 2017 by

Taeyang’s latest solo album, “White Night,” is going strong on Korean music charts and iTunes charts worldwide!

“White Night” took the no. 1 spot on iTunes album charts in 23 countries: France, Mexico, Greece, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Brunei, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Finland, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Macao, Malaysia, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, the Bahamas, Turkey, and Vietnam.

This number of iTunes charts broke Taeyang’s previous record. He also took No. 2 in the competitive U.S. iTunes album chart.

Domestically, as of 6 a.m. KST on August 17, title track “Darling” was No. 1 on the realtime music charts Genie and Olleh Music. Co-title track “Wake Me Up” was No. 1 on the realtime music chart Bugs.

Taeyang’s chart performance is even more impressive considering the tight domestic competition, with Wanna One’s debut album, EXO’s fourth studio album, and Yoon Jong Shin and Buzz all jostling for position on the Korean music charts.

Taeyang made his solo comeback with “White Night” on August 16. He is slated to hold the Seoul leg of his “White Night” world tour on August 26-27.
