In celebration of the re-opening of its men’s boutique at Landmark next month, renowned fashion brand Fendi has tapped K-pop superstar Tae Yang from BIGBANG to design a special capsule collection, which he will personally fly over to Hong Kong to debut at the official store opening on 27 July.
The collection, titled “FENDI For Young Bae” (Young Bae being Tae Yang’s nickname), takes on Tae Yang’s beloved shade of black and features an array of jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, backpacks, pouches, sneakers as well as key charms. Each item is adorn with a ‘Fendi Vocabulary’ keyword — Think, Faith, Grace, Truth, Passion and Saved — that reflects the key themes of Fendi’s Men’s Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection, as well as the values and ethos Tae Yang lives by. Motifs of white daisies — which happen to be the pop star’s favourite flower — can also be spotted on the surfaces of the pieces.
Outerwear includes a soft shearling blouson jacket (HK$75,000) with laser cut wording, as well as a hooded jersey sweater (HK$18,200) with removable shearling patches embellishments. There’s also a cotton t-shirt printed with the word ‘Saved’ (HK$5,500). Accessories, meanwhile, include a black shearling backpack (HK$38,500) with inlayed flower and rubber patch details, and a more versatile version that is made from leather and nylon (HK$18,500), adorned with a ‘Faith’ motif print.
Pouches, on the other hand, are available in black leather (HK$9,600) or red shearling (HK$9,000), and also feature words from the ‘Fendi Vocabulary’. Two pairs of sneakers (HK$6,300) in either white or black complete the collection, both featuring technical coating and a super light and flexible sole. Simply decorate them with detachable ‘Young Bae’ tags for an attitude boost.
The collection is not officially available for purchase until 27 July, but fans can pre-order the pieces on Fendi’s official website starting early July.
