G-Dragon rumored to appear on KBS’s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’ + break YG’s tension with KBS?

It is widely known that YG Entertainment and KBS have had tensions in the past, but it appears that they may be putting their differences aside for it is rumored that G-Dragon will be making an appearance on KBS’s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook‘.

This will be the first time in 3 years that a YG artist will appear on KBS, ever since all YG artists were absent from the 2010 KBS ‘Gayo Festival‘. The upcoming appearance on a widely known KBS music program is speculated to be a promising step forward in patching up the relationship between YG and the broadcast station.

G-Dragon is said to be performing songs such as “Missing U“, “Light It Up“, and “Ultimately” for the recording of the show. However, it is not yet known whether the artists who featured in the songs will also be appearing on the show as well.

An insider stated, “G-Dragon’s appearance on ‘Sketchbook’ is being negotiated in a positive light. We are planning on making the performance flashy and amazing, as it is G-Dragon’s first appearance. With this appearance, the range of YG artists’ appearances will also broaden.”

YG has consistently favored SBS ‘Inkigayo‘ for its artists and focuses on one strong, ‘quality’ performance per week rather than preparing for numerous performances on music programs.

While YG does not show any plans to change their “one-performance” pattern, they may help their artists branch out in various areas by having them appear on other types of programs on various stations. For example, G-Dragon selected MBC’s ‘Infinity Challenge‘ with his recent comeback. Despite the fact that he usually doesn’t make many variety show appearances, he showed his love for the show by participating in a recent recording.

The attempt at settling differences between YG and KBS are said to have been partially brought on by the fact that both Psy and G-Dragon competed for 1st place on KBS’s ‘Music Bank‘ without appearing on the show, proving just how important it is for the two to keep a good relationship.

      Problems when YG decided to make bigbang' 2011 comeback on sbs, kbs was mad (bb performed on music bank after once and they "ruined" bb' perf' with bad lighting, camera work, bad stage...) And also how they treated Daesung' case with false accusations...

        I think it started before that, as the article says both GD&TOP and 2ne1 didn't attend the 2010 KBS Gayo Daejun, both of them were at the MBC and SBS Gayo Daejuns.

          yh they chose to attend another ceremony I cant remember which, so KBS said the artists who attended that other ceremony will not participate in KBS shows....KBS started it....

          i thought that it started when 2ne1 made their comebacks in 2010. YG wanted to promote 3 songs but KBS only allow 2 songs.,..huhu. so, YG decided not to allow his artist to KBS anymore.. juz my opinion

      It's a give and take process.... With YG's upcoming groups that's going to debut soon, limited performances won't help them... But debuting in YG alone is already an advantage, its just that, YG will still be needing KBAss for this matter. While KBAss will lose a lot if they don't at least guest GD or Psy or any YG artist. YG artists are still a big loss I say.

        It's not only that, but also because yg is the company with artist that are highly popular worldwide.....so KBS is at a big loss if they don't guest any of them.
        Well, even though i'm not a fan of KBS I still think that it is a wise choice for both of them :D

    PSY has been winning for the past month so Music Bank was kinda empty lol I guess KBS finally understood that without YG they won't go far.

        im fairly sure that while most of us vips would happily wish them well in real life if they found love, we would collectivelly freak out if they put any bb members on wgm. i dont hate wgm...and even enjoyed season 1 but to watch any of bb in wgm would be cringe worthy, its not their style.

    Well from my oppinion, since YG is going to debuting severals of new group soon so he had no choice other being a bit more diplomatic to promote em to the whole world and since KBS also couldnt deny the fast growing of YG these days i guess they just take a briliant decission to reconcile and put both egos aside..It's definitely a win win situation for both parties..^.^b

    ah..this is all makes senses, i saw the gazet (i dont know what to call it,the 'thing' that appear before every kbs program for example MusicBank, it has many singers including BB and trouble maker prfmncs, for entertainment program) i saw Bigbang with Fantastic Baby performance.KBS use it at their thingy gazet..i know because i recognize GD with that sweeping dance..and i said to myself..when did BB appear on MB?.because gd hair is red after he dye for mv monster..i just thinking this about 1 and half months ago when kbs start to change their gazet thingy..somebody can you tell me that performance is from where?sorry for my bad english..
