15,000 Malaysian VIPs brave the rain for Big Bang

K-pop heavyweights Big Bang finally reached Malaysian shores for their first-ever concert here held Saturday at Stadium Merdeka, with over 15,000 fans – or VIPs, as they are known – refusing to let the rain dampen their spirits.

The weather eventually swayed to side Malaysian Big Bang VIPs though, with the rain stopping right before the curtains fell to reveal 5 futuristic tubes containing each member.

The crowd went mad with squeals and screams as they began singing “Still Alive”. G-dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri did not fail to deliver as they performed their songs such as Fantastic Baby, Stupid Liar, Café, Monster, Blue, Gara Gara Go, Lies, Haru Haru and many more.

Aside from their energetic performance, Big Bang had great connection with the crowd. At one point, Seungri even taught the ‘Fantastic Baby’ dance moves, telling his VIPs that the dance was akin to moving like a car wiper. Fans enthusiastically followed his moves as he beatboxed a tempo.

Without a doubt, Big Bang fans that turned out have deep feelings for the boy group as they raised their banners and sang a birthday song to T.O.P. It was certainly an enchanting experience to witness a stadium of 15,000 fans singing ‘Happy Birthday’ in unison.

Each Big Bang member also performed their own solo song; G-Dragon sang a short piece of Crayon and One of a Kind while T.O.P beatboxed energetically, making the whole performance more uplifting

Seungri performed Strong Baby, Tae yang Performed Wedding Dressand Look at Me and Dae Sung performed Wing. Malaysian fans proved that language was no barrier as they sang along word-for-word with the boys.

Big Bang also learned some Bahasa Malaysia for the occasion and even rapped an entire song with lines like, ‘Aku cinta padamu’, ‘Malaysia cantik’ and so on.

Towards the end of the concert, the crowd cheered so loudly and enthusiastically that they decided to do an encore and they generously did 4 encore songs: Bad Boy, Fantastic Baby, Feeling and Hands Up.

Dae Sung wrapped up the spectacular night and wished the crowd “selamat tidur”, though he probably meant ‘selamat malam’. As Big Bang left the stage, Malaysian fans showed their undying adoration for the boys with loud cheers as they reveled in an unforgettable evening.

    LOL.. dae sung selamat tidur..sound cute.., i will use "selamat tidur" more often after this..i can see why the boys touching so much with malaysian vips..but i believe they also touching with whatever vips did for them..

        The correct one should be "selamat malam" which means good night.. however if you translated it directly, i means happy sleeping...perhaps Dae means we should now all go back, take a good rest and sleep..LOL... no Dae...i dont wanna sleep yet..I WANNA ROCK WITH YOU GUYS!!! KEKE =)

    i really don't mind get wet that nite, i didn't buy the rain coat cause i'm so excited to see them, totally forgot about the rain when bigbang came out, it realy crazy that nite, mvip love bigbang, please came to malaysia again and i wish they will do 2 day concert next time. i want to go both concert if can.

    The challenge that was faced by VIPs is different in every country. As in my case, I had to lined up early in the morning, waiting under the totally super bright sun (which later caused skin burned) and sitting on hot sand... It was really unforgettable memory...

        oh I see, so It was started with shinny sun but then turned into raining?? It just showed how much we wanted to meet them ^ ^.
        The problem for me was, the venue located near the beach (well it's actually only few meters from the sea) so basically, it was like sun bathing or sth because we lined up on the sand/sea shore and my skin burned quiet bad after that even though I've already used sun block T T..

    They sang heaven in the encore too:-) we should all be proud to be a VIP but especially proud for the Mvips! We endured the rain and sang our hearts out that nite! I'll never forget this experience:-) even for Daesung's song,wings,the crowd was sooo loud n sang with him. We even chanted his name to support him after all he went through. He was touched with the response he got:-)

    All of them felt touched that nite with the response they got from the Mvips. Gd asked at the end, what else do u want to hear?? Crayon was being shouted n he laughingly said i think it's hands up:-)

    Top danced a few times, baby cute as always, taeyang with slick moves....they talked in english most of the time n tookmthe effort i learning a lot of the local malay words..

    What else can i ask for:-)

    Yg,please bring our boys back to our shores. Maybe for a Big Show Worldwide Tour:-):-):-)

      it was such a huuuuuuuuuuuuge stadium.. the picture of fans in ponchos up there,was actually missing out about another 4 sections, Cat 1(VIP),Cat 2(rockpit), Cat 3 (sheltered) and Cat 4(standing)

        the view from Cat 8 was just as awesome cuz we get to see the full overview of the whole concert. the lightings, they pyro, everything just put into effect with the music.

        plus, even when Taeyang slipped for a few seconds, we ourselves could see it clearly. just that the side screens gave us a closer view of how it happened. my side close to the main entrance, practically gasped.

    I waited in line for 6 hours and boy, it's totally worth it. Rain or shine, it wont stop the boys from rocking and VIPs from cheering and jumping and singing! Best concert ever Big Bang youre the best!

    BTW I heard the MC said before the show started that it was the biggest crowd ever after Michael Jackson concert in Malaysia. That is super awesome! =D

      I was there too during MJ concert and I bought the second best ticket. Regretted that I did not but the most expensive one. Big bang is my second concert after MJ. I bought the most expensive ticket w my daughter. I can see the so close up.

    Everything is worth, waiting for 10hrs, sun bathing, rain shower, the time i saw BIGBANG, i said..."This is wat im waiting for.." Boys lets wet together, BIGBANG, KINGS OF MY HEART... ( im begging my hubby to let me go to their concert... Like for a month begging.... And it's worth!!!!)

    I was there during the night. Never thought that there will be a day I'll actually see all 5 of them in front of my eyes. They were very energetic and didn't seems tired even though they have to travel all the time. We're very lucky because they seems like they don't want to leave the stage at the end of the concert because they kept singing encore like there's no ending to it. Even GD asked us what song we want next? I trully believe that these boys deserved the love from VIPs around the world because of how they treated their fans and they made us feel appreciated. I wish I can go to BIGSHOW every year to experience this. Let's just pray that YG will consider another Asia Tour maybe? Hehe. Before this GD was my bias, but after the concert, I love all of them equally. VIP UNTIL WHENEVER!

(so fun!) so busy busy that night coz whenever the boys opened their mouths, MyVIPs screamed like crazyyy... !! oh what a night! till now looking thru the fancams i dont know what Daesung said. but being his bias i lurrrrrrve him so much and i lurrrrrve his performance of Wings... like he enjoyed himself with us..! ohhh my ABCD syndrome ~ when am i going to recover from it?

        yeahh TAEYANG was super amazing! and very handsome and freaking HOT & SEXY in person! Taeyang's style doesn't appeal to asian people much because asian people mostly love flower boys and neat guy, but TAEYANG is kinda rough and crazy but TAEYANG always get a lots of love from international fans all over the world because his talents and his Charisma are amazing like no others.

          It was a mini heart attack when YB almost fell. oh the memorable moments. Even when Seungri reached out his hands when he sang the "kajima kajima kajima" part in Monster. I put my hands out too as if we could reach each other. So emotional >.<

    i've sleep on front of the stadium since a day before the con..there's also some of the VIPs who already sleep there 2 days before the con..waring for tix few moths before, sleeping at the open air by the street, enduring burning hot weather and standing still in a cold pouring rain..well for those people who dont understand they definitely think we are crazy..lols..but once BIGBANG come out on stage that night i think all MyVIPs gonna be agree with me that all the hardship that they've gone trough were paid off.. ^^

    Feeling wasn't one of the encore songs. It was Heaven. The total encore songs is 5, not 4. The other one is Sunset Glow/ Last Farewell. They just kept on saying "No, no, no we can't just leave like that..do you guys want MORE????" It might be ridiculous for saying this, but THANK GOD for the rain, Big Bang felt our sincerity. I hope they will come back soon!!

    I felt diffident of this phrase. Our encore chant was so weak that night. we were all running low. even the band members got up and cheer us with his light stick.

    My legs were so tired and painful while waiting BB to came out on stage. Once they came out, i totally forgot about the pain. Only until the very last encore song and bid farewell to them, tried to move my feet and found they had turned numb. My mind, soul and body won't feel like to go. BB please come to Malaysia again!

    Daesung look more handsome in person,the rest look exactly the same as in pictures. All of them hv their unique personality n special . In my lifetime so far, I hv only been to MJ and BigBang both coincidently hv their concert on the same date 27th Oct. Only the best can move me to see their concert. Only go for the top price ticket so that you can see them more close up. I regretted I bought the second best ticket on MJ.

    Went to Osaka's concert and one and only in KL. Even though I love Japan and it's society in many ways, what I could really say is MYVIPs and the concert here was extremely, fantastically awesome!! It was hard to get clearer view in CAT7 but hey, both crowds and BIGBANG gave us the best moment ever!~

I didn't have time for dinner so I went to the concert with empty stomach and still survived with the screaming and shouting, jumping up and down, singing, laughing and crying and exchanging my sore hands to keep my lightstick in the air. (Yes, that's how much I love you boys and much more.)

    I remember when the rain starts to get heavy and my friend and I was one of the few people who didn't have the raincoat but there was a Chinese couple who were very kind to share their one and only raincoat with us (Thank you so much!)
    Everyone was very eager to get that first look of the boys, we waited for like an hour, prayed that they wouldn't cancel the concert. Right that second when the curtain falls we couldn't care about anything, the energy was amazing, the crowd cheered as loud we could. TOP was adorable when he didn't know what to say after we wished him Happy birthday, Youngbae when he finally take his shirt off! (We thought he can't do it cause, pfft, it's Malaysia. But hallelujah! The crowd went nuts), Daesung's cute smile and when he shower the VIP crowd with water (note to self: Get VIP ticket next time. That's the most advantageous area), Seungchan when he talk in English and Malay (melts), and GD, first appearance and the first second I heard his voice, God! he's just so charismatic.
    This article conveys enough but you have to experience it yourself to really feel their awesomeness. It was my first concert in my life, Big Bang was the right choice and I wouldn't change it for any other celebrity in this world. They gave their all, although I did see in their eyes and body language they're tired and they missed home alot. But nevertheless, it was an incredible experience. I'll definitely definitely definitely will take every chance in meeting them again the future. From that night, I swear we were infinite. I'm forever a VIP :D

    I miss them so much. Saying goodbye to them that night was the worst feeling. I stayed for a while after it's over, looking at the dim empty stage, hoping they'd come out just for a second more :(
