T.O.P to Resume "Alumni" Filming Under New Director

Big Bang‘s T.O.P (Choi Seunghyun) will resume filming his new movie ‘Alumnus‘ under new director Park Hong Soo.

Filming for the movie had recently come to a halt after the previous director stepped down, however, Park Eun Kyung, head of ‘Alumnus’ production company ‘The Film‘ stated in a phone conversation with MyDaily on September 11th, “We will resume filming early next week with director Park Hong Soo.”

Park Hong Soo has worked as an assistant director for projects such as ‘Movie Is A Movie‘, ‘Blood Brother‘, ‘Notice‘, ‘Everything About My Wife‘, and more, and has also worked as an assistant director for ‘Alumnus’ as well.

Park Eun Kyung continued, “He has been with us since the beginning of the shoot, and so he understands it better than anyone. The staff members and the actors trust him and he himself showed ambition to take on the role. It’s not that we did not consider bringing in someone new, but we decided that someone on the inside would be most qualified.”

T.O.P will be making his big-screen comeback for the first time in two years through ‘Alumnus’, playing the role of Myunghoon, an assassin who infiltrates the South to save his sister.

    I hope this whole thing doesn't effect the overall outcome of the film, hopefully this film will be a hit too! And I hope TOP is not too stressed because of this, I remember during 71 into the fire, he had a hard time, TOP FIGHTING!!

      The previous director stepped down, because apparently there was issues with the vision of where the director wanted to take it vs. the way the movie company wanted it taken and so on....basically creative differences. So the company found a new director to pick everything back up and finish filming the last 2/3rds. :D

        Wow, now I'm really curious about what the creative differences were specifically about. I wonder if the cast and crew are happy with the new direction this new director takes the film?

        Well at least they're filming again and TOP's schedule isn't completely screwed up b/c of the delay. :)

    I know how tiring it is for T.O.P to shoot a movie and do activities with BB at the same time...
    But TBH I'm so glad that he's going back to the set again since I've always believed that this is the movie that he wants to be in it and so far he's worked a lot for it...
    So, this news is a great relief!

    Yes, this is a wise decision. Choosing someone who doesn't with the crew since the beginning will be too risky.

    I thank God they already found a director. I was thinking Seunghyunnie had been extremely worried about the departure of their previous director. As he gives his best in everything he does, his efforts would go to nothing if this movie gets unfinished. Huhuhu, I feel so happy for him if he is already relieved of his worries. Like all of you here, I pray that everything will goo off smoothly, the storyline will be something that our dearest Seunghyunnie can learn much from, and would finish soon so that he won't get stressed!
