    It's great that he is taking lesson !!!
    He is an awesome dancer don't get me wrong but his style of freestyle pre-debut and after debut is different from what he is trying to do today. I think he is experiencing this kind of dance/freestyle since Alive promotions (I don't know what name I should give it lol, I feel the spirit, dance feels but can't name it lol) and it has been very repetitive. He is maybe lacking in this area and trying to improve even more. YB is very passionate about dancing. Before and after solar promotions he took classes and even go to US for this. He is one of the best dancer singer out there but he is contantly trying to improve his dance even if he is a well established performer right now and that it has been 6 years since he debuted. Ah this guy is true inspiration : never lay back even if u already prove yourself.
    He is maybe working on something for his next solo !!!!! EXCITED

      Maybe he is trying to improve on his "freestyling" but I don't see it like that. I think he is taking classes to make him a better dancer overall and because he loves to dance. You say that his freestyle is repetitive and I can agree with that for the most part because he does do some of the same moves. To me it seems like he is just dancing for fun (I call it "grooving" to the music) and doing what feels natural to him. I don't think he cares whether or not he looks like a good "freestyler" or not because that isn't his objective at all when he dances. He isn't in a battle or competition where versatility might matter, instead he is just having fun letting the music take over his body. And plus repetition is a part of dance anyways.

      Taeyang has been picked as the best dancer at every poll by experts. The only other dancer who was just once picked as a best with Taeyang together is Jay Park. The choreographers on 'Sjow champion' picked Taeyang and Jay Park as the best dancers of kpop.
      And they revealed the reasons like this...
      They picked Taeyang because
      1. strong fundamentals 2. his body is so good for dancing 3. He's great at various genre as well as fixed choreos 4. He has something special in his dancing different from others 5. expressions in his eyes or feeling or so're great 6. He's so veteran 7. Even pro-dancers admire his superb skills and excellent expressions 8. Besides his control is beautiful.

      They revealed the reason why they chose Jay Park. 1. He's good at bboying 2. brilliant footwork 3. He dances his own style to any music.
      Pro-dancers think Taeyang's freestyle is the best and versatile. And they picked Taeyang and Kahi together in the same category commenting Taeyang and Kahi have much in common, Jay Park and Hyuna together in another category. I can guess the reason.
      Monster Woo, one of the best freestylers said he respects only Taeyang among the kpop singer-dancers because others don't have great fundamentals.

      Taeyang take classes because he likes dancing, not becaue he's lacking!!! Best of the best always tends to wide his vision and interact with others :)

        If you are a taeyang stans you should see that the freestyle he has been doing since Alive promotions is different from what he has been doing before. I mean anyone could see it actually. Pre-debut/debut days his style was a mixt of bboying and powerful hiphop movement. Then (especially during solar) it was much more organised, lay back and smooth. Right now, he is doing this. I mean anyone could also see that it has been repetitive not very versatile, there's no shame to say he wants to know more about it. Taeyang is an excellent dancer, he is always good at what he does. It's not a problem to say he doesn't have the knowledge of all dance culture and that he wants to improve (meaning knowing more and be more precise with his movements). I think it makes him an even better dancer : he knows where to work on. Why do you have to say that much? I'm not criticizing.

          I don't think you followed his all works. We call house dance, popping, hip hop, krumping and bboying freestyle dancing. Each of them has their own dance moves, you can learn each of those dance moves or create them by yourself. Real freestyle dancing is to dance those dance moves freely and randomly to the music. So fundamentals on each genre is really important in real freestyle dancing. Taeyang is always praised of his strong fundamentals by experts. Dance moves in dance battles're also mostly from practiced dance moves. You can also create another dance moves, practice them and apply them. Taeyang is genius talented in dancing, ignorant ppl insist he can't choreograph but he's created BB's dance moves and won the best Choreography Award as a choreographer at the Space Shower Music Video Awards in Japan. PPL don't know about him.

          If you would have followed him for a long time, you may have seen he's great at freestyles as well as choreos. Taeyang's dancing on old BB were the mixture of choreo and various freestyles. He didn't follow only to the fixed choreographs. And on BB concert, you can see lots of freestyles. His fundamentals, practical ability, emotional expressions, face and body expressions, senses, rhythmical senses're the best of the best. That's why experts always pick him as the best dancer.

          For example, here're two performances of the same song on old BB. You can see he's dancing sometimes choreo and sometimes freestyles from the two. For example he's dancing krumping at about 3:00 in the first video, that dance move is wholly differnt from the 2nd one. He never danced the same moves on freestyle parts. >>

          Taeyang is the first who started floor dance for the first time in asia. Tons of idol stars copied his moves for their concerts. These're just the tip of an iceburg. Everything happens for a reason. Taeyang doesn't need to spend time participating dance battles to show him off, he's proved himself on the stage. But since his solo album, Taeyang focused on the dance moves and choreos that is suitable for his r&b music, lay back and smooth for a while, he intentionally did it for the music and they're way versatile than other kpop stars' choreographed dance moves.

          He's not repetitive he's always been versatile, PPl just know just one side and some haters false charged him to degrade him. But experts've always proved the haters' insistences're wholly non-sense commenting the reason why he's amazing. He may feels a bit lacking in himself to be better, but he's the most perfect, the most flawless dancer at least in kpop. He just wants to progress more and more through various experiences, I know you're not criticizing him, I just wanted to say my opinion in addition :)

      Yes, Taeyang's been doing the dougie a lot; no, that is not him freestyle dancing. That's him doing an easy "catchy" choreo the audience can mimic and recognize. >.<

    I do understand that the dance crew name is S.W.A.G. but I really don't like that word.... and yes TaeYang is my ultimate bias so I would let it sly, but still Taeyang-ah please don't say that word pleaseee
