Nelly Furtado wants to collaborate with TOP

Guess which hippie Canadian musician surprised reporters when she name-dropped 'Oppa Gangnam Style' (a Korean viral hit by PSY) and "a guy doing the horse move" that's raging all over the airwaves right now?

In Singapore for an exclusive music showcase and to promote her upcoming fifth English music album, The Spirit Indestructible, Nelly Furtado may have been out of sight for the past six years, but the chirpy singer's clearly not out of touch with what's popular on the airwaves.

A music artiste who bravely dabbles in all sorts of genres ranging from pop to folk, and even R&B and aboriginal tunes, Nelly takes pride in her eclectic sound and tries to keep herself abreast with all music styles. That probably explains why she decided to call The Spirit Indestructible, "world music in one album" when asked to describe her newest project.

Back with renewed vigor, at the press conference in Hard Rock Hotel yesterday, the self-dubbed "international artiste" also shared her desires to collaborate with Big Bang's TOP on her new song 'Big Hoops and admitted that "the average K-Pop artiste is not so easy to phone up on the phone."

Though she didn’t reveal further details on it, Nelly promised that something is “in the works”. “We’ll see what happens. But I do foresee a collaboration of some kind with K-Pop or J-Pop. I definitely do love what they’re doing.”

      Maybe Tabi knows that Korea came No. 5 on the Olympic medal tally too.
      Canada (where Nelly is from) came No. 36.

      Maybe Tabi is thinking 'She has no Olympic medal and Canada is 31 spots
      under Korea in the final medal tally... no way am I recording or eating
      dinner with Nelly Furtado! But if Canada beat Korea at the Winter

        I'm not against Western artists. Some of them are really interesting and I think would be awesome and REALLY INTERESTING FOR BOTH SIDES if colabs with people who's with some creation beyond hypeness but as I said, I'm against people with more name than talent.
        I think TOP and korean music don't need the most popular names of music around the world. I'm strongly satisfied with the best names. Not the most famous names.

It would actually quite benefit her in the international market for her to collab with any yg artist bc kpop is becoming more popular. I knee about nelly since she came out.     TOP in the song Big Hoops? Why can I not picture that. The song is a "meh" kind of deal so, I guess I can't see him participating in it. He raps in English really well (a good example of that is in BB's Number 1 album) so I can see him featuring in a song with a western artist
    — just not...that song.

    TOP saying "dah bigaah dah beddah!" over and over again is simply too low to meet Tabi Standards. Sorry. :/

    Aww, this would be so much fun. Strategy-wise I think a collaboration with Furtado could be a wider release than a Japan edition with Pixie. Plus she has Spanish language releases...for all of Big Bang's Spanish speaking fans, wouldn't that be nice :) I feel good about it, hope she makes it happen!
