    YoungBae in the mv<3 The part when GD dress like a tennis boy, I went "oh gosh so damn freaking cute!" it's a good idea that he hit the ball to break the glass.     Honestly, not a big fan of the song (GD, I'm sooo sorryyyy!!) I will definitely put it in my itunes/ipod but probably won't listen to it as much as I listen to his older songs. But I believe that this genre is what GD probably wanted to do/explore especially in his new album, back to the basic hip hop style. I love how he treasured his rapping ability even more in this song. I like his rap in this song, I'm really impressed. Just hope there'll be more variety genres in his full album =)
    On the other hand, I love the MV. The whole concept is smart, and I love how they let him used literally whatever he wants in the MV. YES, GD IS BACK!!!

          Thank you, I meant every word. Sometimes, VIPs you forget that Jiyong and others like him are human beings with dreams. They work hard to perfect themselves and their craft. This is the case with Jiyong. Music is within him. You can even say it's in his blood; he is music. The thing is those artist work hard to put out what they believe is some of their best work, only for the masses to rip it apart. So then said artist change to please the masses only for the masses to complain yet again about something else.         How do you like the dance moves and not the music? You have to feel and be the music in order to bring it like that. Besides, that's the point of the video, he's so rich and young, he can do the animals. He's so powerful he can basically do what he wants. Hip Hop MVs are supposed to be fantastical just like movies - a great escape, over the top. This is the Korean version of over-the-top. He's BOSS! What do you expect? You'll get it. <3 ya.

    I've heard so many people say that GD can't rap, that he can't lead KPop to the rest of the world. I've heard people disregard him when this has been his passion since he was a child. I love this song! I think it transcends the lines between KPop and the original American rap genre; something I'm sure GD wanted to do since he was a child. I found myself not wanting to know what he says because his flow is enough said! I think this more than proves cynics wrong and more that binds border and sea lines.     I wasn't that impressed........... until I listened carefully to the lyrics. I know haters are gonna say that he's showing off that he's rich and successful. Basically it's a message saying he is who he is. Yes there are things about him people will hate on like his youth and success and his tendency to change frequently. But he's one of a kind... He does what he wants. Copying his style, actions, choices won't make them him. Cuz he's one of a kind :)

    There's also a great moment with the heart-shaped steak saying "please don't curse at me and hate me. I want to be loved too."

    The song + the mv can seem like typical shallow showoff American rap. But, I think he's being really open and honest about how he truly feels with some flair! :) C'mon it's GD, it would be a really weird mv without some style.

      I liked the way another person put it: It's not that GD is pumping himself up (I mean he totally is, that's rap get over it...) But then again that is rap, he is a rapper, a musical artist. People think that this is what he does, that he has to be the best, that he is an annoying snob. He's too rich for his own good, he doesn't want anyone around him who isn't rich, he's a con artist, a puppet, an a-hole who just likes to get in trouble and be the center of attention. So in this song, he is playing a role, but he's not that at all. He's "one of a kind" he breaks those molds and he is nothing but himself. I prefer GD in short haircut in red or black. this blond is for me too yellow.the scenes with animals are very cute (escpecially with little tiger - but I really do not understand why he is also wearing tiger on his back and tiger's strips on trousers. it's too much for me). panda ears - are really adorable. the dance moves are simply and I really like them. GD really moves in awesome way. the scenes with Barbie doll are funny. the music is catchy but for me something is not right. maybe it's the fact that it is made more in American style and I'm fed up with it.       I think I said this before. He's doing Hip Hop which is American. He's trying to bring all the Koreans with him on this journey where Hip Hop has been embraced. He learned from some of the best in America and is putting a Korean flava to it. Taste the rainbow. Embrace change. If he stays in one place and not grow, he will become depressed from not being able to freely create what is inside of him. I'm sure there is something from his new material that you will just love like crazy. If he didn't change himself, none of you would love him as much as you do. I'm starting to think it has to do with his skin being a little darker, the ethnic hair, the beautiful children. People need to remember where Hip Hop came from and how Jiyong got started.     I love everything about it. Literally. Not too many people are crazy about the hairstyle and I understand that too. I like it, a lot. I also like the kids in the beginning, the tiger, the bear, and long "Ji" pause he did. I really loved how he was throwing tennis balls at all his old outfits from his 1st solo album. It's just...Perfect for me. I would have liked some topless scenes >.< Lol but the YB&GD part at the end was what killed me!

    I gotta give props where props are due. GD did his thing here. Blew all our heads off. Made us dizzy! I have watched this video probably five or six times now - and its not getting old. I almost feel like we dont get to see enough of GD's face. My ONLY complaint for gd and bb in general - I'm not a fan of the insanely heavy makeup they put on them - i preferred the lighter look like gd&top had. It was more organic yet flashy and handsome at the same time. But thats my personal opinion and I do admire GD's tendency to wow and amaze with all new artistic/fashionable looks he comes up with. Its never anything less than amazing.
    My other minor complaint is - I dunno bout ya'll but you guys have to see the apparent Weezey influence right? The braids [of all kinds] the clothing style... obviously GD puts his own spin on it - but like, LOL, from the teaser, i swear I was like what is this weezey-miyavi hybrid look? lolol, sorry don't hate me. I love GD, and Miyavi actually - just not a huge fan of Weezey.
    But now, to all the haters, saying this isn't GD enough - come on - you really want him to sound like something three years ago? Let's be real. And you know - he's gonna mix it up. He always does. He wouldn't be GD if he didnt. He's like the MJ and the greats - their albums were always full bodied listen from beginning to end without getting tired type of albums. Lets all wish GD good luck on this new record - and we CANT WAIT TO HEAR AND SEE THE REST!!! p.s anyone know when the album is supposed to drop?

    I, for one, really appreciate that GD is going in his own direction and breaking out of the mould. I don't like when everyone in k-pop conforms.
    GD's roots are in hip-pop, it's what he loves, so don't say things like "LOL HE'S TRYING TO BE BLACK." Ehh..is Eminem trying to be black too, then? No.

      exactly! I think this is what GD really wanna do for his own solo album. Hip-hop is GDYB's root, there is nothing wrong of moving away from k-pop style, they are just returning to their home. Not only that, we should be glad and proud of GD doing something more to hip-hop style because this proves that GD, YB or even YG are still showing gratitude and interest in hip-hop as hip-hop/ black music is the source that sparks interest of them towards music. Without hip-hop, there will not be GD and YB today. Still remember GD telling the first music that interest him to singing is black music/ hip-hop?       WOW, I go to finally get some sleep and someone else picks up the baton and carries on. You brought tears to my eyes. Because even though I have not experienced racism in my life (well, I get it more from black people than anyone), it hurt to read the comments even here. People who were supposed to love and support Big Bang no matter what, have their backs. I take the ghetto, black , and all that kind of talk personally because i grew up listening to Hip Hop. It is a part of my heritage even though I'm not really accepted. I'm dark enough to be black, not white enough to be white, not Asian enough to be Asian, not Italian and French... you get the point. Even though my picture shows me dark (picture taken with no light, room slightly dark) my shading is only one shade darker than what Jiyong is in that video.

      It hurt to here the comments because Jiyong's raps and him have always been considered American. He was always asked that which to me, that's real props. Because if he was mistaken for American with his rap, then that means he can hang with those in America and be taken seriously just as Emimem has now been taken seriously. As well as, Jiyong isn't trying to be anyone just himself. I mean come on, no one wants to "BLACK". no one grows up and says, "Hey, I want my life to be difficult, to be constantly treated like crap because of the shade of my skin and texture of my hair, to be treated like a last class citizen in my own country, to be followed when I go shopping in a nice store, live in the hood, arrested ... on and on. No one says that. People strive to be as "WHITE" as they can to live the "GOOD LIFE". I'm so proud of those who didn't go there with the rest of the bottom feeders.           I apologize for all the mistakes within my response; I guess typing through tears isn't the smart thing to do. As I type this now, the tears have started again. This whole thing is so sensitive to me because of the negative comments that have been made about him and his work. It feels so personal. I don't know why, it just hurts me to my core. He's an amazing man with a pure heart and soul that loves his fans (VIPs) and what he does. He's truly brilliant and has worked so hard for everything.

          As I have mentioned before, I have not personally experienced racism except from African Americans (I don't like labels) simply because I'm not "black" enough. Whatever that means.I've been told that I shouldn't enjoy his work because he and other South Koreans do not like African Americans (I'm part not fully) and that South Koreans wouldn't marry one either something about mixing blood or something. I was so shocked by such hateful talk about people that I thought were very warm and inviting. I don't know, I just know that all of this talk about someone who expresses himself beautifully for all the world to experience, is sickening and crushing my heart and spirit. I don't understand why there is so much negativity and controversy that seem to follow him non-stop.

          I am beyond infinitely in love with his generous creative soul. My twin soul. I don't consider myself a VIP (fan), I only admire what he does. I don't do the screaming and all of that. Nothing is wrong with it, I just don't get it. I'm glad he has VIPs everywhere. Always take care of him. He's pretty unique. I can't see, tears too heavy. <3 you all.       Exactly, I think people who try to suggest GD is 'trying to be black' don't really understand today's generation and the idea of combining different genres and sounds to make new ones.

      I think GD has a huge respect for the Rap and R&B genres and for the many talented artists who work within that genre. I don't think he's trying to 'be black'. It's more that he has been into these genres of music for a very long time. Yes he hasn't grown up with Rap/R&B in the same way that for example a person brought up on the streets of Harlem would but does that mean he has no right to perform or enjoy that genre? If that's true then African American people who perform Italian/French/German opera have no right to do so, people from South America have no right to enjoy K-pop, English people aren't allowed to listen to Latin music, Chinese people aren't allowed to listen to US pop, and Americans aren't allowed to listen to any European Classical music... I mean really, how ridiculously narrow-minded, constricting and downright stupid would that be if it were true?

      I believe today artists should be free to be inspired by many forms of music and incorporating that into their music. There's nothing wrong with this as long as he's not being offensive or racist. And I don't think GD is being offensive here at all. He's playing different characters that reflect his own one of a kind complex individual view. One character is a brash in your face rapper with bling (there are many rappers with that kind of over-confident attitude in the rap game) the other is an innocent insecure person who wants to be accepted and please fans. It reflects GD's confidence as a rapper/performer/producer but also his insecurities as a person who wants to be loved and respected even though he can have a big ego at times.

      His new single is a fascinating mix of electro, Rap, and K-pop and is a great reflection of GD's many influences. That imo is the beauty of being part of a world that is free and allows you to access interesting inspiration from countries other than your own. Your race shouldn't prevent you from listening or being influenced by music made by other races. Yes there are different races BUT at the end of the end of the day we all share a connection b/c we're all human after all. GD combining these sounds is just more evidence that his generation and other generations are being more and more open towards other genres of music and that imo is a beautiful and positive thing! :)

        Jiyong blends genres of music masterfully, and yes, it would be completely narrow-minded if people turned their back on Jiyong now.
        And another point you made, the "I'M RICH, I'M FAMOUS" persona is a stage act, purely for artistic and entertainment purposes.
        If you're a real V.I.P. you'd know that GD is in fact really sensitive and sweet. For instance, in the lyrics there is "please accept me, please love me" during the table scene.
        Don't judge things at first glance. <3

          I'll admit the song didn't grab me as fast as Big Bang's new stuff
          but after listening to it on repeat and hearing the wild improvement in
          beats/production (I hope YG plans to released the instrumental version
          of One of the Kind) and GD's incredibly quick flow/ability to soften his
          voice (he doesn't sound as harsh/aggressive in some parts here like he
          did during the GD&TOP era) it's easy to see the guy has really
          pushed himself here musically and visually.

          The beauty of GD (as a perfectionist who pays close attention to all
          aspects of his work... MVs, fashion, production etc) is that he's always
          combining different inspirations/sounds/visuals to create something
          unique that reflects who he is. I think it'd be too easy for someone who
          doesn't know much about GD or the Korean language to assume this is
          just a weird/crazy video without substance. But even with the language
          barrier if you know about GD and his personality (and his
          background/controversies/struggles) the video makes a lot of sense after
          reading the great translation provided in this post. It's clear that
          the change of characters from swaggering rapper to sweet guy (and the
          acknowledgement of GD's insecurities in parts of the lyrics) is a
          reflection on the duality he feels in his mind/heart. He wants to be
          crazy/experimental but he also wants to keep/please fans. He's proud of
          how he worked hard and fought for his career at such a young age (and
          now has the riches/success to prove it), but he's also a little
          regretful sometimes if his ego is too much for people and rubs them up
          the wrong way.

          And I love your comment about not judging things at first
          glance! ^_^ <3

          I think this line definitely lends itself well to GD as an
          artist/person and what this whole MV is about... you can judge it at
          first glance and wrongly assume it's just a wacky video with no meaning.
          Or you can delve a little deeper and learn more about the person behind
          the music/MV and get the real meaning behind the message of the MV. It
          isn't an visually fun MV that lacks substance, there is definitely
          substance there if you're willing to look closer. ;)

    I've been waiting for this for three years, FINALLY! omg so many feels, there's so much going on in this MV i think i'm gana have to watch it many times, which i def don't mind :P the song is super catchy, not in a kpopy kinda way, but very swag.
