KBS Entertainment Relay & Big Bang Controversy (120225) [NEWS]

On KBS “Entertainment Relay”, the controversies of Big Bang’s sudden comeback and incidents from last year were brought up along with very suitable statements.

With the recent news of Big Bang’s new comeback, a lot of heated reviews have been made. Especially with the public appearance both Daesung and G-Dragon made asking for the public’s forgiveness.

The first major issue that was covered on this day’s episode was of the time Daesung (appeared on Healing Camp and) showed his gratefulness and sorriness, “At the funeral, the family of the deceased got very angry with me. However, the aunt and older brother of the victim came to me personally after some time had passed. They told me, ‘We cannot changed what has already happened and we do not want you leaving what you have behind. We want to see you working harder and smiling on television more often.’”

But regarding this situation, Entertainment Relay’s staff was able to personally meet the mother of the deceased and asked about it. The mother responded, “He (Daesung) never even came near here (the house). Even at the funeral, we couldn’t even see his face,” and that Daesung had shown up for one of the funeral days, but never even met up with the victim’s parents.

Accordingly, many viewers of tonight’s episode have been commenting, “So what if he didn’t see them? It wasn’t his fault and he didn’t want to purposely kill the man.” And in regards to the settlement money, the parents stated, “We have not gotten any.” With the parents living through hardship in a poor environment, it saddened the viewers as they were watching them throughout this interview.

On one hand, Daesung was acquitted for the accident and had released announcements of a new drama production only after four months. G-Dragon had also continued to film television advertisements even after his marijuana controversy.

Some arguments are being made that they are taking advantage of the suspension of indictment and acquittance that were given upon them.

Currently, 63.6% of South Korea has taken a poll that Big Bang’s comeback is still too early.

    this is interesting news... the weird thing is that i remember reading articles where the family said that daesung visited them in their house later to apologize to them. he had brought YG with him I believe.

    now the mother says he never came near the house?  Earlier she said that they were upset at daesung for not immediately apologizing when he came to their house

Obviously, any sane person would know that Daesung is not stupid to LIE on TV broadcast about who he met with and if he attended the funeral. It's just too easy to check the factuality.     and another thing. korea is so big on hallyu stars and going on about
    how they are spreading the korean wave and representing korea, and
    because of kpop they now have a global audience watching them. instead
    of going on about how kpop stars are global representatives and how they
    are spoiling the country's rep by their actions in interviews like what happened with block b, how
    about thinking about how the workings of their own media and dubious
    reporting has negatively affected their country's image to a global
    audience? i find the whole incident and past incidences of boycotting
    and artist bans really off-putting to be honest.

    if korea is so concerned about their image to us, their international audience, why not do something to show that we are internationally aware of what is going on and will not stand for it? i personally don't use twitter but i do see that sometimes threading high worldwide will get other people and celebrities talking and hopefully will result in getting a news article out of it in order to get the truth out there. i'm boiling right now and can only think of #KBSISSHIT but this could be something vips, bbcs and all others who are sick of the way kmedia operates can come together to make a stand.

    sometimes I think  their showbiz culture is so bizarre...they wanna portray not just a GOOD image, but they want PERFECT image.... for kpop idols, they have gone through a lot on their training days to cope with the EXPECTED PERFECTION...some may resort to plastic surgeries, no sleep, intensive dieting, they have sacrificed a lot already just to please the public...

    YET WHEN THEY COMMIT SLIGHT MISTAKES, THEY WILL LABEL IT AS SCANDALS....THEY WILL FACE SEVERE PUBLIC SCRUTINY sometimes to the extent of asking them TO COMMIT SUICIDE..... 

    Yes they are celebrities, but they are humans too who wants to enjoy life, IMPERFECT as we are, they commit mistakes...

    all this push for more controversy, i feel, is not only disrespectful to bb and yg, but the man who lost his life. Yes, it really is a terrible thing that happened in may 2011. but the boys shouldn't have to have the incident constantly be pushed at them, or the victim's family. the time for healing is now. its in bad taste that kbs relay would do something like that.
    I really don't get it. do they plan to have daesung and bb take years for a break in order to reflect? no. because this comeback is medicinal to them. they're using this opportunity to throw themselves into the eye of it all, with repenting hearts. they dont even expect instant support, howver, us VIPS everywhere know enough about our boys to support them. we all cried tears for the deceased man. and taking more time away from what they do best is almost like an insult to the man who lost his life. bb is working extra hard to compensate for the man's life as well. while watching healing camp, i cried. it felt like we needed to hear all this from daesung. and anyone who wrote or said hateful comments toward him can't deny the way he's been living for past few months. as for gd controversy..i'm not gonna lie; it is possible to not know the world of drugs much. and hair tests, no matter how small the amount of drug, will more than likely find traces. hearing it out of his mouth, it made sense. they mix weed with cigarettes. i've mistaken a cigarette before. the smell is different, but hey, he was drunk. you get caught up and mistakes happen.

    all in all, I hope kbs will not let some people within their company do things like this. this is just too much.

    i'm normally all about ignoring the haters but i can't let this go because this is not a netizen but a broadcast station with millions of viewers, more so if you count other countries like mine with kbs as a cable option. you can say that it's alright, VIPs know the truth, but this affects the opinions of casual tv-watchers who do not know much about big bang and who will base their opinion on features such as this so it just makes me mad that big bang's reputation is damaged because of KBS.

    just like false reporting in the past about daesung's accident - i still see haters calling him a murderer for drunk driving and running over a person when we know in fact that he was not drunk. most casual readers will not be following up on the case and will take whatever news report they read as fact, which is why any wrongful reporting is so detrimental. there is a reason there is such a saying as 'the power of the press'

    As for GD's case, we know that MBC interviewed with staff who works for National Institute of Scientific Investigation now, and he said that the length of residue remaining depends on people even it's only a few puff. then why KBS keep contacting the one who quit 10 years ago the police job (even who didn't word for NSI before and is not involved in GD's case) to get the answer 'GD looks like a drug addict'. why? why KBS dosen't make a phone call to the staff who works for NSI now? they said that the new test machine was imported recently and in GD's case, very small amount tested. it is the fact.
    i think it's easier to contact rather than finding for the man who quit the police job. Just to get the answer that KBS want? that's so unfair.

    Perhaps it is a very different way of thinking over there; however, whoever loves BIGBANG and fully support them - VIP FANS - this will not matter. BIGBANG is BIGBANG. There are a lot other artists/actors/celebrities that have done a lot worse, and their TRUE believers support them. I think these companies are just envious that BIGBANG is doing well and are well love :-). Of course it upsets me to see this, and makes me want to get even.     FIRST OF ALL, if Daesung was lying,but he wasn't, why would he go on TV show and cried while he was telling the story. I felt what he was saying was true, because i was crying my ass off when i heard the story. He didn't rehearsed it, because it's hard to do it. Only professional maybe can do it, sorry Daesung, love you,but you aren't a professional actor. He was talking FROM THE BOTTOM OF HIS HEARD. You can see it in his eyes.
    SECONDLY, OMFG leave GD alone. Seriously there are artists, musicians that do this more then what GD did. Plus, he was too relaxed and not careful about who he took the cigar from.     aahhhh my blood pressure is going high!!! I feel like bombing a building of a particular tv station, good thing I don't live there. I'm already feeling like this, what more of our boys? I wish YG would sue them, they won't stop until they ruin them, of course we won't let it happen but the accident is a serious psychological trauma for Daesung and if things get out of hand again he may not recover from it. YG has stop to them not just for their career but most importantly for their health.
