Melon Music Awards 2011 reveals list of Top 10 artists [NEWS]

The ‘2011 Melon Music Awards‘ launched its first round of online votes back in October, asking netizens to narrow down Melon’s list of 30 nominees to 10. Votes flooded in from October 27th to November 6th, and on the 7th, Melon revealed which 10 artists made the cut.

The music site announced that 2011′s Top 10 artists were Super Junior, IU, f(x), 2NE1, Leessang, Park Jung Hyun, B2ST, Big Bang, SECRET, and SISTAR. Results were determined by a combination of album sales scores (80%) and online votes (20%).

This year’s Top 10 list included some surprises. While the expected idol champions made the list, many were surprised to see the names of Park Jung Hyun (a star from MBC‘s ‘I Am a Singer’) and hip hop duo Leessang.

Melon kicked off its second round of votes on November 7th to determine the ultimate top artist. Results from the second round will be revealed at the awards ceremony on November 24th at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.

    my fearless forecast is that BIGBANG/2NE1 has this award on the bag.
    BIGBANG rocked Melon with all of their songs in the mini-album in the Top 10 for a week while 2NE1 hit the roof of Melon with almost all of their songs.
    the votes count for very little in the final results.
    DAESANG will probably go to BIGBANG/2NE1.
    but i will be super happy if it goes to BIGBANG (as much as i love 2NE1).

    i hope that's true because Suju have so many votes.. but if talk only about digital sales, they can't compare with BB & 2NE1 but if plus the votes, i don't know whether it's enough for BB.. so no matter what i am wishing hard the KVIPs are voting~ not only KVIPs, casual fans too.

    As much as I hate to say it, there's no hope in BIGBANG winning in any of the category. They are so very far behind. Even the one category that they are very close to taking #1 (Best Music Video), they have no chance because they still are way behind and we only have like 2 days left to vote. So sad, but it's okay. To have been nominated in 5 category was awesome enough! No matter what, BIGBANG is still the best! :)
