“YGE State of Emergency”: From G-Dragon & Marijuana, Daesung’s Car Accident to Stocks

YG Entertainment is in a state of emergency because of the mishaps that have been occurring lately, that started with Daesung’s unfortunate accident and now G-Dragon and his suspension of indictment for smoking marijuana.

Big Bang’s G-Dragon has caused shockwaves due to his smoking marijuana. He is currently under the suspension of indictment (which is basically a warning) for smoking marijuana in Japan. According to a representative of the prosecutor’s office, “On June 15, there was a search-and-seizure and the urine test at that time had come out negative, in July a hair drug test turned out positive.”

The CEO of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun Suk stated, “It is shocking, after we have determined the matter of fact we will give out an official response.” An insider of YG Entertainment also stated, “We are holding an emergency meeting. It appears that a lot of plans for Big Bang and GD&TOP need to be changed. G-Dragon will ‘take out some time for self-reflection’ (He is going to take a break from promoting activities). He feels a lot of remorse at the moment.”

Originally, GD&TOP were going to officially debut in Japan with the single “Oh Yeah (Feat. BOM)” on November 9.

Currently Big Bang’s other member Daesung is also going through some “self-reflection time” because of the car accident that resulted in another man’s death. Although he was acquitted, it is being said that he will not return within this year.

YG Entertainment has another major problem, stocks. In June YG Entertainment went through the initial phase for being listed on KOSDAQ, but they are still not listed. Experts are stating that the recent string of incidents will probably not stop YG Entertainment from being listed. However, YG Entertainment relies on its celebrities and their activities. Thus, all of these accidents that are occurring will probably have a negative impact on YG Entertainment stocks if they do become listed.

Currently YG Entertainment recorded sales of nearly $45 million from January 1 to June 30. 27.98% is from Big Bang’s concerts such as “2011 BIG Show” and “Love & Hope.”

    This may of been why he shaved his head ,  after having to give a hair sample. 
    This would also possibly explain why it seems like 2ne1 seem to be favourites, Yg doesnt want to loose revenue almost as it he knew it was coming.     I'm sorry if some of you disagree with some of my points these are just some things that have been floating about in my head. I am a firm believer that people make mistakes and G.D's charitable work should be focused upon. I sometimes forget that the majority of idols are still very young and at the ages where the rest of us are allowed to make mistakes and grow as people 
    I voted a lot today for them at the EMA .
    Plus even if the worst  happens and GD gets blacklisted , the power of Vip's is awesome !!!!!

    I hate the fact that lots of KVIP says they'll support BB no matter what, and now they're saying all these harsh things about him? What kind os fans are they? GD is going through a difficult time here, and even after what happened to Daesung, a lot of pressure has been put on BB and even more on GD [cos he's the leader].
     
    Yes, drugs are wrong, but he only took it once, and the fact that he admitted it instead of avoiding the fact he did it. Same with Daesung [He never meant for it to happened <3]. They both faced up to things that they did, I just wish YG will support them instead of just saying that they are grounded and stuff like promotions on hold, yes it's bad, but they need a lot of support as well!
     
    As for Taeyang, I'm sure he's not going to say things like that about his bestest friend, his childhood friend he grew up with. If it's anything, Taeyang would support him instead saying things like that. :]
     
    Please VIPs, support GD and BB for the conditions they are going through right now. Support/Hope and love is what they need, not big bad news in their faces.
     
    BB will return as 5 next year. I'm sure of it!~

But in law they must prevent that kind things to be follow. So i think no problem having strict law but the them must aware the bad. Influence of those things.     Oh seriously? Come on! What "reflection?" It sounds like a load of rubbish to me. His image hasn't been tarnished; he got a little high high (no pun intended). The case is nearly 4 months old...couldn't he have gone through his reflection then?? Why now? Just because the public has caught wind of it?      I strongly suggest a boot camp, the whole BB should be put through a retreat again as in their BB documentary time. That would be helpful for them , and that's the way to get the whole good vip back , as well as to get the new ones

    To be honest, I am disappointed with GD. Yes, its his life. But he is a celebrity, wherein everyone is watching his moves, one mistake could ruin his career. I hope he stay strong, I've only been a fan of him for 2 years and I am hurt with what happened to him. I could only imagined how his fans were feeling right now, fans who has been with him the past 5 years starting from their debut.

    I just hope GD to be strong. I am still a fan of his music that would not change.

    Everyone goes through hardships and downfalls and feel like their life is at a breakdown. This is just a stepping stone to becoming a better artist/person, to help better and cleanse your mind. We are all human, we all make mistakes, some we want to take back, some we regret... But some teach us a lesson in life that help us through that path of self-healing and contemplation. I can't speak for other fans/VIPs out there, but I speak for myself and I say that no matter what happens, I will always support Big Bang :)

    im just a little disappointed with gd..a lot of young people really look at him..theres even a survey that all children participated and they choose gd as their idol..now i know gd is human and he dont need to be perfect..but he should atleast take care of his image and be very careful of his action...i feel so uneasy now..Dae's accident caused alot of pain on there comeback and then again this news brings pain on there image..this is really sad news...

    Oh my god. I legit laughed when I saw that article saying that he smoked marijuana. To me it was like "Yeah that's not surprising in the slightest. He's a celebrity. Just unfortunate he got caught. But he only got a warning so it's no big deal." The fact that Korea has to go and turn it into some big thing is bizarre to me. It's marijuana. Not cocaine. This is really depressing, not because of the actual issue but because of what YGE might do in reaction.

Especially when your partying, drinking or smoking! and that you're somehow an icon of your own country AND that you said you want to make Korea proud of you!     Taking drugs is serious matter. GD should have been more careful receiving things from strangers. I also wonder what is the intention of that stranger giving out the cigarette to GD.

    I hope TOP is fine, as they're always together. I understand they may be tired & stressed. But why allow their genius & talents fall into such vice (smoking inclusive)? They should see themselves as role models, do not underestimate their influence on the younger generation, they could change the world into a better place.

    This is no big deal seriously. I hope you guys realise that scientists have proved that weed is not as harmful as cigarettes/tobacco (a lot less tar in it!) and less addictive. People only view weed as a drug cos it's what the bigger power wants us to look at it as. Cigarettes are no less a drug but why is it allowed to be smoked legally? Go figure.

    I think someone leaked this issue or made this up because of the fact the he might comeback later this month. And everyone is very scared of his comeback so they released this issue instead. The fact that it was done back in July, it was like, really intentional because it surfaced out of nowhere. Hope it will not affect his career seriously and I know that he can surpass this dilemma .     i think he probably assumes that if he says hes going to punish the idols by slowing activites and reassuring the media the artists are "reflecting" the media will go easier on them.

    This is what I'm really afraid of. That their future plans be completely altered because of this incident. I just hope that if its altered, it will be to the benefit of the iVIPs. Not promoting in Korea because they are gonna be hated on but promote internationally because the international fans will be more than happy to have them, with controversy or not.

    If YG has to post pone Big Bang or Solo activities for this "scandal" to die down then I support him 100%. I know it sucks that this had to happen but Big Bang doesn't need anymore publicity on them right now. Its better safe than sorry and from what I've seen of Korea and their judgmental mentality they'll crucify GD at any given opportunity and this is yet another one of those opportunities.
    The only positive I can get from this whole situation is that Big Bang as a group and individually always bounce back from scandals, honestly if these scandals that they have faced were faced by other idol groups I don't think they would bounce back from it as well as Big Bang has/can. Not saying its easy but just goes to show the fire and passion they have within themselves and the group to not let something like this overcome their dreams and goals as artists.
    Whatever happens will only make GD and everyone else stronger, I have faith in YG whether people believe in him or not but I do because the boys wouldn't have signed on for another 5 years if they didn't believe.

    This is a total bummer! Especially considering BigBang renewed their contract with YG, let alone proving that the are the exception of the average boy band lasting 5 years...which I still believe they are still as solid, if not stronger than ever artistically. Now it feels like the group is on another, but more dramatic hiatus! I hope they pull through. Everyone needs to stop comparing Western culture vs. Eastern. I too live in the U.S, and yes it is commonly heard, seen and spoken of/about narcotics...but it still doesn't make it ethically RIGHT. However I do believe in an individuals right and/or freedom to practice their "habits" on thier own. Meaning keep it behind close doors! Don't be stupid and get caught for something you shouldn't be doing. And some of you brought up a good point, "he is an IDOL", all eyes are on him, and it is his resposibility to conceal that habit. Anyways my heart goes out to GD and the boys, I hope they get pass this phase and start focusing on the album and projects we are all anticipating! =]

Even a young kid doesnt take candies from stranger, What the Hell is going on???     The incident happend in june.... for god's sake.. He even went to Singapore and Malaysia recently, and those countries are really tough with drugs scandal. Something must be up, probably covering up some government scandals, thats why they are using this outdated news now. Like what they did before when leaking the Seo Taiji and Lee Ji Ah's divorce.

    It's alright.. he's GD. Probably we wont see him anymore this year?? I'll just hope he sorts this thing out and keeps producing awesome stuffs. Everyone will be waiting for him.. He's too good to be ignored =)))

    really? why does GD get it so hard over a organic and or medicinal, plant? the acceptance rate for marijuana use has grown tremendously over time. seriously? He took a puff puff while rockstars in America are snorting coke off of strippers backs, but its a huge deal.
    I feel that in his lifestyle, what he does and represents is a lot of stress to carry. people wouldn't be freaking out if he had a drink, same sh*t (its less harmful to smoke marijuana than consume alcohol, fact). I think GD deserves to let go like i said he wasn't sniffin coke or drinking irresponsibly.

    People should be more concerned about daesungs emotional refection. Life throws some hard punches sometimes but stay strong remember the people who support you and love you, so stand tall and let the punches roll.

    Big Bang, what can i say? ive never heard or seen anything like you before but i gotta say Big Bang is obsession worthy.
